BUNYIPS

Australian water monsters also known as Kine Pratie, Wowee Wowee, Dongus, and many other localized names. All species appear to live in the swamps and marshes of the country. Some have the flat face of a bulldog and a tail like a fish; others have the long neck and beaked head of an emu and the flowing mane of a sea serpent; while others somewhat resemble humans. All can be immediately identified by the fact that their feet are turned backward and their faces are hideous. Australian Literature
